Qaseedah Burdah Summarized | Part One > Part 13

• • • • •

The 10th Chapter is the last chapter of Qaseedah Burdah. It is the climax of the poems.

The last chapter is titled: Secret Talk and presenting ones Needs

Allamah Busairi Rahimahullah was ill, he was paralyzed. In the state of hopelessness, he prepared these poems in the praises of Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam to invoke the mercy and help of Allah.

The last chapter is divided in to two parts. In the first part, Allamah Busairi requests Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam to intercede for him on the day of Qiyamaah. In the second part, Allamah Busairi makes Du’aa to Allah to grant him Sabr. He then concludes with requesting Allah to send the clouds of pounding and permanent rains of Durood and Salaam upon Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.

Allamah Busairi presented these poems to Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam in a dream. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam presented him with a shawl. The following morning, Allamah Busairi was cured. This is the Mu’jiza of Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.

Mufti Saheb concluded by advising on how we should react to challenges of life. Firstly, submit to Taqdeer. This is the greatest form of Ibadat.

He then advised on exerting oneself in Du’aa. Mufti Saheb then quoted many Ayaat of the Quran and Ahadith to jolt us and inspire us to engage in Du’aa. Finally, Mufti Saheb concluded with a heart rendering Du’aa.

Narrated ‘Aishah (ra) that Barira came to seek her help writing of emancipation and she had to pay five Uqiya (of gold) by five yearly installments. ‘Aishah said to her, “Do you think that if I pay the whole sum at once, your masters will sell you to me, and I will free you and your Wala’ will be for me.” Barira went to her masters and told them about that offer. They said that they would not agree to it unless her Wala’ would be for them. ‘Aishah further said, “I went to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and told him about it.” Allah Messenger (ﷺ) said to her, “Buy Barira and manumit her and the Wala’ will be for the liberator.” Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) then got up and said, “What about those people who stipulate conditions that are not present in Allah’s Laws? If anybody stipulates a condition which is not in Allah’s Laws, then what he stipulates is invalid. Allah’s Condition (Laws) are the truth and are more solid.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari 2560]

What is the best Durood to recite?

What is the best Durood to recite?

When the Ṣaḥābah Raḍi Allāhu ʿanhum enquired from Nabi Ṣallallāhu ʿalaihi wa Sallam as to how they should convey Ṣalāt upon him, he replied with the words of Durood-ê-Ibrāhīm. From this, some ʿUlama have deduced that reciting the Durood-ê-Ibrāhīm is the best way of conveying Ṣalāt and Salām upon Nabi Ṣallallāhu ʿalaihi wa Sallam, since Nabi Ṣallallāhu ʿalaihi wa Sallam would only choose for himself that which is the best.[1]

Must one refrain from lengthy Duroods so one can recite more Duroods to attain targets?

Nabi Ṣallallāhu ʿalaihi wa Sallam has directed us to send Durood on him in abundance. Therefore, if a person is not able to achieve a set number of Duroods by reciting lengthy forms of Durood, then he should recite the more brief Duroods so that he may achieve his target. However, one should also recite the lengthy Duroods occasionally as they contain words by which Ṣalāt and Salām are conveyed in a better way compared to the brief Duroods that do not contain such words.

Hereunder are some short forms of Durood [2]:
